Sunday letters: Should U.S. be involved in Syria?

June 23, 2013

Have we completely lost our minds? Do we really want to start another war and add to the army of disabled veterans, war widows, national debt and taxes on an already overtaxed populace?

Sen. John McCain gave it away when he asked why are we spending hundreds of billions on defense if we can’t act in Syria. Duh. Why not cut the military and stop looking for things to hit with it? Shame on President Obama for giving in to pressure from McCain and Sen. Lindsey Graham.

Who is our enemy, anyway? The Syrian rebels started the war and they are made up of largely, if not mostly, militant Muslims. God help us all.
