— Three Columbia health clinics are offering free HIV tests June 27 as part of a national campaign to “take the test and take control.”

The Columbia chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women encourages people to get tests at local sites:

— Palmetto AIDS Life Support Services, 2638 Two Notch Road, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

— Laurel Medical Practice/Eau Claire Cooperative Health Center, 1520 Laurel St., 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

— SC HIV/AIDS Council, Hopkins Park, 150 Hopkins Park Road, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The State is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
