Columbia, SC — Seven of my relatives were involved in a tire blowout accident on Interstate 20 earlier this month. Three of the children were seriously injured and were hospitalized. One died. The children are suffering psychological problems while dealing with the death of one, as well as their own injuries. As you can imagine this accident has caused a tremendous amount of grief to my family.
Connor Shaw, quarterback of the USC Gamecocks, who was visiting the Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, made a special visit to the room of two of the children. He presented them with an autographed football and took a picture with them. I can’t tell you how much his visit meant to those children.
I am so grateful to Connor for taking the time to visit Marcus and Tony and bringing much-needed smiles to their little faces. It was a very thoughtful and kind thing to do for two little boys who have been through so much. They have a long road to full recovery, but that single act of kindness will never be forgotten. Thank you, Connor, and God bless you.
