Suspect sought in Friday robbery of West Columbia bank

— Lexington County authorities released surveillance photos from a West Columbia bank Friday in the hope that the public can help identify a robbery suspect.

The First Citizen Bank at 2830 Sunset Blvd near West Columbia was robbed around 4 p.m. Friday by a man wearing a dark baseball cap, dark shirt, khaki cargo pants, gloves and a dark cloth that obscured his face. The suspect told bank employees that he had a weapon but no one saw a weapon, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said.

No one was injured in the robbery. The man fled the scene on foot.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the man who committed the robbery was asked to call the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
