SUMMER READING CHALLENGE: Children ages 9-12 are invited to the Richland Library, Sandhills branch, 1 Summit Parkway, as the Battle of the Books team prepares for the ultimate challenge of book knowledge from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday. (803) 699-9230

COCKY’S READING EXPRESS: Children are invited to share in a special storytime at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kershaw County Library, Camden branch,1304 Broad St. (803) 425-1508

FAMILY FUN NIGHT: The Bethune branch of the Kershaw County Public Library, 206 Main St., hosts family fun night “Digging up the Past: Dinosaurs” at 7 p.m. Thursday. There will be stories, games and crafts. (843) 334-8420

DIG INTO MUSIC: The Irmo branch of the Lexington County Public Library, 6251 St. Andrews Road, hosts this family event featuring musicians and a variety of musical instruments from 2-3 p.m. Saturday. The performers will share information about each instruments’ history and how each is made. (803) 798-7880

SUMMER READING CLUB: The Kershaw County Public Library’s Summer Reading Club for ages 6-11 continues through Aug. 15. Register at kershawcountylibrary.org.
