Chitose, Hokkaido, Japan (Sports Network) - Shunsuke Sonoda carded a 5-under 67 on Sunday to cruise to a 3-stroke victory at the Nagashima Shigeo Invitational Sega Sammy Cup Golf Tournament.
Sonoda claimed his second career victory on the Japan Tour at 20-under-par 268.
Tomohiro Kondo (65) and Yuki Kono (66) shared second at 17-under, while Hideki Matsuyama (66), Hideto Tanihara (67) and S.K. Ho (66) tied for fourth at 16- under 272.
Sonoda held a 2-stroke lead over Hiroyuki Fujita entering the final round and was able to pull ahead by four at the turn with an outward 32 that included birdies at the third, fifth, sixth and eighth.
Fujita, meanwhile, could only manage gains at Nos. 2 and 7 to make the turn at 15-under.
Sonoda moved to 21-under with birdies at the 11th and 14th before he dropped a shot with a bogey at the 16th.
He closed with a pair of pars to end at 20-under.
