Fundraiser planned for family of Richland County deputy, wife killed in wreck

— A chicken bog fundraiser will be held Friday on behalf of the two daughters of a Richland County sheriff’s deputy and his wife who were killed in a motorcycle wreck.

Sgt. Derrick El Dada and his wife, Leigh El Dada, were killed June 19 in a motorcycle wreck in Saluda County. The couple had two teen daughters and proceeds from the chicken bog will help support them.

The lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Zack’s Sandwich Shop, 3521 Bush River Road. The fundraiser is being organized by the sheriff’s department, Columbia Police Department, Schroeder’s Towing and Zack’s Sandwich Shop.
