‘Interior Spaces’

The artist reception for “Interior Spaces,” a 701 Center for Contemporary Art exhibition, is from 7-9 p.m. The exhibition features Ken Ambler, Pam Bowers, Dylan Critchfield-Sales, Yvette Dede, Paul Flint, Meg Griffiths, Stephen Hayes, Susan Lenz, Frank McCauley, Glen Miller, Jaime Misenheimer, Frank Poor, Kristi Ryba and Christian Thee. “Interior Spaces,” which runs through Aug. 18, explores how contemporary artists, in various ways, approach interiors. 701 CCA is at 701 Whaley St. $5; www.701cca.org

Jasper release

Jasper Magazine will release its latest issue and, per usual, a fun evening is attached. From 7-11 p.m. Friday at the Columbia Music Festival Association, there will be a performance by Columbia Summer Rep Company, a closer look at Muddy Ford Press’ “Red Social – Portraits of Collaboration” and a music set by Mat Cothran of Coma Cinema and Elvis Depressedly. Paying it forward

S&S Art Supply will host a fundraiser for Palmetto Place Children’s Shelter from 2-6 p.m. Saturday. There will be more than 100 works of art in the silent auction, with bidding prices starting at $25. Preach Jacobs will DJ and Tom Hall and the Plowboys will perform. There will be an open bar courtesy of The Whig and Rosso Trattoria Italia, along with catered hors d’oeuvres. S&S is at 1633 Main St. Free; (803) 661-9700
