I have a 58-year-old son who has cluster headaches. He has had these for several years and has lost three jobs because when an attack starts it can last for weeks.
He filed for disability benefits with Social Security months ago. He was turned down weeks later, which seems to commonplace.
After seeking help elsewhere with no luck, we finally contacted our congressman’s office and it is getting the same response. Social Security says he needs to complete two forms, and each time we inquire we are told that the forms will be mailed and should be received in two days. The forms never arrive. His claim has been transferred from Columbia to Alabama with the same results.
There should be some way to hold Social Security accountable for such mishandling of a claim.
