Two men arrested following break-in at Gervais Street home

July 11, 2013

— Columbia police arrested two men Thursday afternoon in connection to the break-in earlier in the day of a house on Gervais Street.

Jonathon Mobey, 24, and Brandon Bolton, 21, were to be charged with 2nd degree burglary and larceny, department spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said in a press release. The two are accused of breaking into a house on the 2000 block of Gervais Street around noon and taking electronics and cash.

Mobley was taken into custody after the car he was driving was pulled over for a traffic stop, Timmons tweeted. Bolton fled the car and was apprehended around 4 p.m.

Mobley and Bolton were being held at the Alvvin S. Glenn Detention Center Thursday afternoon.
