SC veterans to be recognized

The Pentagon will honor hundreds of South Carolina veterans of the Korean War in ceremonies Monday.

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham will speak at the 10 a.m. event, which also will be attended by Rep. Joe Wilson, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln St. The public is invited.

The U.S. Department of Defense 60th anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee will bestow official certificates of appreciation upon an estimated 400 S.C. veterans. Organized by Honor Flight SC, the event will feature music by the Palmetto Mastersingers and The 308th Army Band.
