Orangeburg man dead after striking a tree

— A 22-year-old Eutawville man is dead after he struck tree around 1:20 a.m. Saturday in Orangeburg County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was headed south on Belvedere Drive when he ran off the right side of the road and struck a pine tree, according to the highway patrol. His vehicle overturned.

The man has not yet been identified publicly.
