Lexington motorcyclist dies after collision with automobile

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC A Lexington man died at the hospital from injuries he received in a collision between his motorcycle and an automobile around 5:09 p.m. Friday, Lexington County coroner Harry Harmon said Saturday.

Larry M. Porth, 56, was traveling north of Windmill Road on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he was hit by an SUV driven by Robin Temples, 64, of Gilbert as she tried to cross Windmill Road at Lewie Road, Cpl. Brent Kelly of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

Porth, who was wearing a safety helmet, was transported to Palmetto Health Richland, where he later died from the injuries he received in the accident. Temples was not injured, Kelly said.
