Columbia, SC — At the Fort Jackson Fourth of July celebration, everyone had to have a valid ID with their picture on it. Cars needed valid insurance and registration.
I applaud this effort to prevent any major disturbance. My point is this: We needed a valid picture ID to go see fireworks and a band but the politically correct groups and the Department of Justice opposes South Carolina’s and other states’ attempts to require picture ID to vote. Amazing.
As my sarcasm grows while typing this, I would like to know where the ACLU, NAACP, League of Women Voters, the ABC, DEF, GHI and JKL groups are, as requiring valid picture ID to see fireworks and a band are something they certainly cannot agree with; I am looking for a suit to be filed immediately as this requirement certainly affected some of the population who missed a great show.
In my new book, “Enough Already II,” I have coined a new phrase, “unpopular politically correct.” Excuse me while I scream.
