Deputies seek suspect in attempted fire at Blythewood business

— Richland County deputies are looking for a man who vandalized a Blythewood area business last weekend.

Just before midnight Saturday, the suspect used a flammable liquid to try to set fire to Joe Sharpe’s Service Station, 8105 Winnsboro Road, damaging the right side of the business, Sheriff Leon Lott said. Damage to the metal siding is estimated at $150.

The suspect, captured on video surveillance, is described as a black male, 6 feet tall and about 175 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and a black sweater he used to cover his face. Damage to the metal siding is estimated at $150.
