Wednesday letters: Civil unions aren’t marriages

July 17, 2013

Thank you for printing Tom Chase’s letter, “Who gets to define things?”

“Gay marriage” is just a window-dressing phrase for homosexual civil unions. Homosexual couples who form a civil union should enjoy the same legal and tax benefits afforded to married heterosexuals, but they need to introduce themselves as something other than married.
