Wednesday letters: Piggly Wiggly will be missed

— I agree with Ruth Johnson about not buying Wal-Mart meat (“Closings put fresh food farther out,” Sunday); I also have had some problems with it. However, the article left out some grocery stores that are near the Piggly Wiggly that is closing on Garner’s Ferry road.

I have shopped at Aldi’s since it opened. The fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, meat and dairy products there and at Save A Lot, both on Garner’s Ferry Road, are always tasty and much less expensive than Wal-Mart.

I hate seeing the Piggly Wiggly close as well. I hope a Costco or Sam’s will move into the Piggly Wiggly, as I have friends who rave about their fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and dairy products.
