— Police have arrested a man suspected of snatching a woman’s purse at a Lexington Walmart Tuesday evening.

Abyjah Anthony Smith III is charged with strong-armed robbery and possession of a stolen vehicle, according to a Lexington Police Department release.

The man is accused of pushing a woman up against a car and grabbing her purse as she walked out of the Walmart on Sunset Boulevard.

A pair of witnesses who saw the robbery followed the suspects car, reported stolen from Gaston, until it hit a curb. The suspect got out of the car at that point and ran away.

Smith is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center on a $110,000 surety bond.
