online@thestate.comJuly 19, 2013

We've added 1,046 new records of health inspections for restaurants, bars, cafeterias and other eateries in Kershaw, Lexington and Richland counties to our restaurant inspection database.

The inspections were carried out between March 22 and July 12 by Department of Health and Environmental Control inspectors.

One hundred forty-four establishments in that period earned exceptional scores between 98 and 100 on unannounced, routine inspections.

Sixty-four received B-level scores between 78 and 87 on their routine inspections and 13 earned Cs with scores between 63 and 77. All those establishments had or will have the opportunity to improve marks with follow-up inspections.

The eatery with the lowest routine inspection score in this update period was Town House and Associates at 1615 Gervais St., Columbia, which received the 63 after a April 24, 2013, inspection. The restaurant had follow-up inspections April 26, where it scored an 88 and May 24, when it scored a perfect 100. Town House also had a second routine inspection in this period in which it scored an A-worthy 91.

The lowest follow-up score in this period was for Pizzeria Uno, 5304 Sunset Blvd., Lexington, which earned a 79 on a June 11, 2013, inspection following a routine inspection June 4, where it also scored a 79. If the restaurant had a second follow-up, that data has not been released by the health department. Only eateries with scores of 88 or higher on follow-up inspections may post an "A" sticker.
