Friday letters: Make teen fathers pay up

July 19, 2013

Thousands of families in this state, including some of my own, continue to have young teenage girls getting pregnant out of wedlock. What is going own? I can not figure it out for the life of me.

I do have sense enough to know how to slow it down. Every young man stupid enough to impregnate his young girlfriend should, by law, have to support the child until he or she becomes 18.

Neither the state nor the federal government can continue to pay for raising the children of irresponsible parents.

Get off of your backsides, politicians, and pass some laws that will slow down this ridiculous system.
