— A previously convicted sex offender has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor between the ages of 11-14, according to the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office.

On June 19, the mother of a 14-year-old girl notified authorities her daughter had met Chad Michael Rabon, 23, online. Rabon is a registered sex offender.

The mother said her daughter admitted she had sexual relations with Rabon on two occasions at a home in Kershaw County, according to a news release from the department.

The mother said “her daughter’s cell phone contained text messages from Rabon that indicated an improper relationship,” according to the release.

Rabon was charged and convicted with criminal solicitation of a 12-year-old girl in August 2009 in Lexington County, the release said.

On Thursday, Rabon was located in Lexington County and authorities arrested him. He currently is being detained at the Lexington County Detention Center with a hold on him from Kershaw County. He also has a probation hold on him from Lexington County.
