— The 3 Rivers Music Festival is finished for this year.

A second weekend won’t happen due to difficulty in rescheduling performers and rain forecast for coming weeks, organizers said Friday.

The decision comes after events on July 13 were canceled due to rain forecasts,

It proved impossible to pull everything together next month as initially hoped, organizers said.

“We have a responsibility to our funders to keep the festival in the black,” festival leader Sandra Sims said in a statement. “We’d rather have a great festival later than a mediocre one in August.”

Plans now call for the festival to return next June, with no dates specified.
