Monday letters: What about Kelly Hunnewell?

July 22, 2013

— Now that the media, the Rev. Al Sharpton, the NAACP and a host of others have had a field day trying to turn the George Zimmerman case into a racist hate crime, I am waiting for them to come forward to demand justice for Kelly Hunnewell. Three black men are accused in the shooting death of the white mother of four children as she worked to provide for her family.

Her death will not make national news or be commented on by Barack Obama or be met by demonstrations across the country — and we know why this is true. As I said, I am waiting and waiting and waiting.
