RICHLAND COUNTY, SC Richland County authorities released surveillance photos of a suspect wanted in the attack on a convenience store clerk Saturday, July 21.
A scuffle started after a credit card, handed to the clerk to pre-pay for gas at the Cheap Way Gas station at 1715 Leesburg Road, was rejected and the business was asked to keep possession of the card. When the customer was told, he allegedly pushed the clerk and grabbed for card. Although unsuccessful at getting the card back, he fled the store.
The suspect, described as a black male around 17 or 18 years old with dreadlocks or braids and wearing a green baseball cap, short sleeved camo shirt, blue jeans and dark tennis shoes, was last seen around 2 p.m. Saturday, riding in a silver vehicle possibly a Saturn, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said.
