Police training session set Saturday at Irmo Elementary

— The sound of gunshots and police car lights flashing at Irmo Elementary School won’t be a cause for alarm Saturday.

Police are conducting a training session all day at the school at a time time when classes aren’t held,

Blanks will be fired during the exercise, police chief Brian Buck said.

Using the school helpsofficers prepare for dealing with an invasion of classrooms, he said.
