— A 24-year-old Charlotte man was fatally stabbed late Friday night during an argument outside Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The death, apparently the first violence-related fatality at the north Charlotte entertainment venue in its 22 years, followed a rap concert featuring Lil Wayne.

Detectives early Saturday identified the stabbing victim as James Warren Price. No arrests have been announced in the case.

A number of police were working on security detail in the parking lot when the stabbing took place, shortly before 11:30 p.m., but there apparently were no officers near the scene. Investigators say officers arrived to find a man stabbed and a woman, whose identity has not been released, also injured.

Medic arrived a short time later and declared the man dead.

Officer Jessica Lawrence, a spokesman for CMPD, said several witnesses saw what took place. She said police were told that the victim and several other men got into an argument after the concert, which featured Lil Wayne with T.
