Thinking that nuclear weapons can keep us safe is ludicrous. If used, they would create mayhem and untold destruction. Nuclear weapons don’t help with the kind of security we need — food on the table and safe neighborhoods for children. The Cold War is over. It is time that we eliminate weapons that cost billions of dollars.

I call on Sen. Lindsey Graham and Rep. Joe Wilson to stop their warmongering. We need to reduce the nuclear arsenal, and we must raise awareness of the enormous consequences of nuclear weapons and that their use as perceived during the Cold War is misguided.
