Richland County sheriff holding yard sale

August 3, 2013

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Richland County authorities are holding a yard sale to help the family of a deputy and his wife who died in a wreck.

Sheriff Leon Lott says the Richland County Sheriff's Department Citizens Academy Alumni Association has scheduled a yard sale on Saturday at North Springs Recreation Center. Items for sale include clothes, appliances, toys and furniture.

Proceeds from the event benefit the daughters of Derek ElDada and his wife, Leigh. The couple was on their Harley-Davidson when they were hit June 19 by a Chevrolet Malibu that crossed the center line of Highway 391 after running off the right side of the road.
