Shoes, sex, skin and hearts are on the agenda for the annual Women’s Health Conference, set for Aug. 24 at Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The conference is set up to dispense important information in a fun format. Local physicians will make presentations with titles such as “Pretty Shoes, Ugly Feet,” “Sexual Health at Any Age,” “Caring for Your Skin” and “Women’s Heart Health.”

The day begins with a breakfast buffet at 9 a.m. and continues with the educational sessions and a Zumba demonstration between 9:05 a.m. and 1 p.m. Attendees also can visit exhibits by local health care organizations.

“This is a conference that attracts several hundred attendees every year. Participants say they like its fun approach to giving them information that is important to women and their families,” said Scott Graves, president of BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina, which sponsors the event.
