— The Richland County coroner's office has identified the woman struck and killed late Wednesday night as she walked on the side of Hard Scrabble Road in northeast Columbia as Diane Scott, 56, of Ashley Hall Road in Columbia.

An autopsy, performed Thursday, showed that Scott died from injuries suffered when she was struck by a pickup truck around 10 p.m. Wednesday night, coroner Watts said.

On Thursday, the highway patrol announced that officers arrested Tres Reep, 27, about three hours after the accident.

The accident occurred on Hard Scrabble Road between Bush Road and Elders Pond Road, about a mile from Ridge View High School.

Reep is charged with leaving the scene involving a death and driving too fast for conditions. Reep was driving a 2006 Chevy pickup. He was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
