Columbia police are looking for the man who disguised himself as a mummy before robbing a convenience store last month.

The man, his head wrapped in white cloth and wearing white gloves, robbed the Quick Stop at 4000 Trotter Road after 9 p.m. July 28, according to a Columbia Police Department release.

The wrapped-up robber was spotted on surveillance footage pointing a gun at the clerk and making demands. The clerk put a small amount of cash into a plastic bag and gave it to the suspect, who then shambled out of the store.

No one was injured in the robbery.

Police are looking for community input to help wrap up the investigation. If you recognize the man or know anything about the incident, contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or www.sccrimestoppers.com.

Tipsters could be eligible for an award for information that could help snag the suspect.
