Plenty of employers or church and community organizations offer free health screenings at special events these days. However, you don’t have to wait for those events for some free screenings.

Palmetto Health offers free diabetes screenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:45-7:20 p.m. at 1801 Sunset Drive in Columbia and on Thursdays 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at 1501 Sumter St. in Columbia.

Free breast and cervical cancer screenings are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30-7 p.m. and the second Saturday of each month, 8 a.m.-noon, at 1801 Sunset Drive.

Free prostate cancer screenings are offered the fourth Thursday of each month, 5:30-7 p.m. at 1801 Sunset Drive, and every Thursday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at 1501 Sumter St.

Call (803) 296-2273 to register for any of those screenings.
