—  A crash between two vehicles on Farrow Road sent one vehicle hurtling into a man on a bicycle Sunday afternoon around 4 p.m., a Columbia police spokeswoman said.

A pregnant woman in one of the cars was taken to Palmetto Richland hospital, where her injuries were diagnosed as non-life-threatening. The bicyclist also was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash site is just off Beltline Boulevard, less than a mile from the hospital the injured people were taken.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said the incident happened when a car traveling north in the 3200 block of Farrow Road struck another car turning onto the road from a Hot Spot gasoline station.

That impact caused the driver of the car traveling down Farrow Road to lose control, sending it smashing into a stop sign, then into the man on a bicycle as well as part of a building at 2315 Academy St.

Police have charged the driver of the car entering Farrow Road with failure to yield right of way. Her name is Tiawana Foster, 34, Timmons said. The pregnant woman was a passenger in Foster’s car, Timmons said.
