— Lexington School District Two and Brookland – Cayce High School will host a ground breaking ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 23 at the school to kick off construction of the school’s new athletic stadium. Upon completion, the stadium will serve as home field for football, soccer, the marching band and the home football field for Busbee Creative Arts Academy and Northside.

The stadium, which is being built between the school and Knox Abbott Drive, will open for use in July 2014. In addition to a state of the art lighting system, the field will be artificial turf. This option allows teams to practice and play games as well as participate in physical education classes during the day.
