RICHLAND COUNTY For the third-consecutive year, Richland county ranks among the top five in AAA Carolinas’ annual list of South Carolina’s most dangerous counties for collisions along with Charleston, Greenville and Horry counties, according to an analysis based on 2012 crash data. Ranking fifth is Pickens County.

The analysis data, which has been calculated since 1995, is done to remind motorists of the need for safe and defensive driving, especially in counties with above-average crashes, injuries and deaths.

The most dangerous county for motorcycle collisions and injury-related motorcycle crashes is Horry County, while Jasper county was named the least likely of being in a collision.
