Columbia City Council members, opponent file for election

Bruce A. Trezevant has filed for the District 1 City Council seat held by Sam Davis, who filed for re-election. Trezevant owns Strategic Integrated Technology, a security business, and founded Project Unity U.S.A., a nonprofit organization that has worked to implement crime-reduction programs and projects in communities.

The filing period for the Nov. 5 city election opened Tuesday and closes at 5 p.m. Sept. 6.

Also Tuesday, District 3 incumbent Moe Baddourah filed for the mayoral seat, as expected. At-large incumbent Tameika Isaac Devine filed for re-election.
