Upstate men arrested on bear hunting charges

Seven men have been arrested for a variety of charges related to hunting or baiting black bears, according to the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.

The arrests come after a four-year investigation into activities in the upstate. The charges include bear baiting, killing an undersized bear, killing a bear sow with cubs, trespassing, hunting license violations and distribution of marijuana.

Among those arrested were Charles Claude Blowers, David Winston Brown, Ty Cooper Mills, Thomas Elliot Mann, Jason Russell Sullivan, Wesley Caylor Hedden and Sherwood L. Patterson.
