Would-be robbery foiled in Cayce

CAYCE POLICE DEPARTMENT

— Shaquille Tyshaun Robinson, age not given, was charged with attempted strong armed robbery after a failed effort to rob the Bojangles chicken restaurant at 3021Charleston Highway Friday evening, the Cayce Department of Public Safety said in a news release.

Robinson was wrestled to the ground by the restaurant’s manager around 5:33 p.m. after he allegedly assaulted the manager and demanded money. He was held in place by the manager and another store employee until Cayce police arrived on scene and arrested him.

Robinson was being held at the Lexington County Detention Center Friday night awaiting a bond hearing.
