— The city of Columbia has reported a sewer overflow near 5801 Brickyard Road and 1400 Peeples Street in Richland County.

The overflow entered Crane Creek, which flows into the Broad River, the city’s Utilities & Engineering Department said in a release. The city sent out the notice Saturday afternoon, a day after heavy rains.

The news release did not say how much wastewater was released or how long it had been leaking.

Wet weather conditions led to the overflows, the city said.
