Sunday letters: Obama far from first liar-in-chief

August 18, 2013

Obama First President Bush

— Judging from his Aug. 8 letter (“President Obama can’t be trusted”), Gregory Topliff must not be paying attention. Lies from the Oval Office are as common as garden weeds.

Consider: weapons of mass destruction (George W. Bush); “I did not have sex with that woman” (Bill Clinton); “No new taxes” (George H.W. Bush); “I am not a crook” (Richard Nixon).

I could go on, but what’s the point?
