— The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has charged a 16-year-old boy with disturbing schools for making vulgar comments and sexually suggestive motions towards several female Irmo Middle School students.

A school crossing guard reported the incident, which took place Tuesday afternoon on the Irmo Middle School campus at 6051 Westcott Road. According to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, several parents saw the 16-year-old standing at a fence outside of the school making inappropriate comments and gestures.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said the suspect, who can’t be identified because of his age, is not a student at any Lexington and Richland County District Five school or any other public school in the area.

He was described as wearing a white shirt that exposed most of his upper torso and his hair in “Pippi Longstocking” braids. Metts also said he was wearing jeans with an open zipper.

Deputies placed the 16-year-old on trespass notice for Irmo Middle School and released him into his mother’s custody.
