Tuesday letters: New elections director can’t fail

August 27, 2013

— I enjoyed reading the Aug. 16 article about the recently hired Richland County elections director (“New Richland director digs in”) in which Howard Jackson expressed concern about the number and storage of voting machines.

I would suggest that he need not worry about anything related to elections. He apparently has the job for as long as he wants it, regardless of his job performance. The previous director oversaw the most dysfunctional election anyone can remember, and yet Lillian McBride just got reassigned to her previous job. Nice work if you can get it.
