Lexington Police Department asks public for help in locating suspect

— The Lexington Police Department is asking the public for help in locating Jose Luise Ortiz, 22, of Columbia, who is wanted on multiple charges stemming from a domestic violence incident.

According to a Lexington Police Department release, Ortiz forcefully entered the home of a female acquaintance on Aug. 24. He is accused of assault, which caused injuries to the woman and the child she was holding. Ortiz is 4 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds, police said.

Warrants have been issued for criminal domestic violence, child endangerment and burglary. Police believe Ortiz is being helped by family members in and around his last known address of 7414 Claudia Drive.
