Thursday letters: Motley helped many people

August 29, 2013

— The late Ron Motley of North Charleston was likely the greatest trial lawyer who ever lived. Greater than Cicero and as great as Thurgood Marshall. He helped more injured people than any lawyer on earth.

He was the epitome of genius, hard work and love of people. While our politicians represent bags of corporate campaign money, Ron represented real people damaged by corporate greed. Ron even risked his life to help people.

God, help Joe Rice and the Motley Rice firm to continue Ron’s work. He will be missed.
