6 people nabbed in separate Lexington County meth lab busts

— Six people, five men and one woman, were facing charges connected to the discovery of meth labs in Lexington County over the weekend and Tuesday., the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said in separate news releases.

Charged with manufacturing methamphetamine are Michael Wayne Anderson, Jr., 31, of Flora Drive, Lexington; Charles Daniel Barker, 31, of Shore Road, Fair Play; Paul Scott Kelley, 41, of Griffith Creek Drive, Greer; and Christopher Carl Ruppe, 45, of Racetrack Road, Woodruff, according to a Lexington County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Officers with Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team officers made the arrests Sunday at the Motel 6 at 1776 Burning Tree Drive near Irmo, after receiving reports about an alleged meth lab in a motel room. Evidence of meth production was found in the room, according to reports. The four were being held Tuesday at the Lexington County Detention Center on $15,000 bail each.

Tuesday morning a room at the Executive Inn motel on Harbor Drive in West Columbia was raided and officers with the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team seized meth lab equipment. Christy Ann Gable, 37, of Longview Street in Lexington and neighbor, Earnest Charles Lake, 52, also of Longview Street, Lexington were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Gable and Lake were awaiting a bond hearing Tuesday evening.
