Wednesday letters: U.S. shouldn’t go it alone

September 4, 2013

Tell President Obama and Congress not to make the same mistake as President Bush.

Everybody agrees that something should be done to the regime in Syria considering how many citizens have been killed. The gassing of its own citizens was an atrocity that should be dealt with harshly. The nations around Syria should be alarmed.

If the Syrian government gets away with this, what nation will be next? This just opens the door for terrorists throughout the world.

But if the United States acts alone again, all we would be doing is killing Syrians, good and bad.

This decision should come only from the United Nations. If the United Nations does not act, why do we need it? I ask all our government officials not to just engage the United States alone, again.
