Looking for some bargains? Head to the Big Grab Friday and Saturday, a 43-mile-long yard sale from dawn to dusk. Sales will be along routes running through Blythewood, Ridgeway and Winnsboro and then back to Blythewood.
Sample great food, wine and craft beer from noon-6 p.m. Saturday at the sixth annual Viva La Vista at the Congaree Vista (in and around Gervais St. at Lincoln St.). Reggae band The Wailers will headline the event; other bands scheduled to perform include Danielle Howle and Lunch Money. Local restaurants will sell generous portions of their favorite menu items, and craft beers, including selections from Columbias Conquest Brewery, will be sold for $5. Visitors can also purchase tickets to the Wine Garden, where various red and white wines will be available for sampling. Free parking is available in the garages on Lincoln Street between Lady and Washington streets, and on Park Street next to the Hilton Columbia Center.
