— A tip to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man and the discovery of a Blythewood marijuana operation.

Nathaniel Benard Scott Jr. was charged with manufacturing and possession of marijuana, according to a release from the sherif’s department, following a Wednesday tip to its Community Action Team about illegal drug activity at a Blythewood residence.

Deputies followed the information to 18 Irish Court, where they saw marijuana plans in the back yard in plain view. Inside the home, deputies found a mason jam containing 900 grams of marijuana, marijuana tree plants, plant enhancers, grow lights and other plant-growing materials.

Scott was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
