Field is set for Columbia City Council’s fall election

— Columbia’s fall election ballot is set, as filing closed Friday.

Mayor Steve Benjamin, running for re-election, faces challengers Moe Baddourah, a Columbia councilman, and newcomer Larry Sypolt.

Among races for council seats, District 1 incumbent Sam Davis faces businessman Bruce Trezevant; District 4 incumbent Leona Plaugh faces real estate developer Todd Walter; and incumbent Tameika Isaac Devine faces businessman Tommy Burkett in the at-large race.

The election is Nov. 5.
