1 person killed, 1 seriously injured in early morning NE Richland wreck

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC An Elgin man was killed after his car hit another vehicle head-on early Saturday morning in Northeast Richland.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said Ryan C. Sizemore, 23, of 307 Watts Hill Road, Elgin, was the driver and only occupant of a Mazda pick-up truck that collided with another vehicle head on. Mr. Sizemore died at the scene from multiple trauma. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital by helicopter with serious injuries, Watts said.

The wreck happened in the 10700 block of Two Notch Road around 2 a.m., Watts said.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
